Communication

Elephants have a large repertoire of vocalisations including low growls, deep rumbles, bellows and roars, high trumpets, cries, and screams. Elephants can communicate over long distances by producing and receiving low-frequency sound (infrasound), a sub-sonic rumbling outside the range of human hearing, which travels at least 4km (2.5 miles) through the air and ground.
