THUNG THONG AND THUNG NGOEN, BABY ELEPHANTS AT KRABI ELEPHANT HOUSE SANCTUARY

Meet Thung Thong and Thung Ngoen, playful baby elephants at Krabi Elephant House Sanctuary. Support their well-being and freedom from forced performances 

THUNG THONG is a 3-year-old male elephant (without tusks) weighing around 500 kg. He has a playful nature and a big appetite. Children should be cautious around him as he may consider them as friends.

Why is THUNG THONG with us:

We purchased THUNG THONG or rescued him from the northern region where his owner intended to sell him for elephant shows. We wanted to prevent him from being forced into performances, so we bought him instead. We have been making efforts to integrate him into our elephant family, allowing him to live with us and avoiding any forced show performances.

THUNG NGOEN is a 6-year-old elephant weighing approximately 900 kg. We started taking care of him on January 15, 2566.

Reason for THUNG NGOEN being with us:

THUNG NGOEN’s mother was about to give birth to a new baby elephant, so she kept THUNG NGOEN away. The owner had to sell THUNG NGOEN, and we decided to help and take care of him. We didn’t want THUNG NGOEN to be involved in elephant riding or show performances. We are currently working on adjusting and providing assistance to THUNG NGOEN so that he can live comfortably with us.
